  • An air movement generator (Centrifugal Fan, Roots-type Blower, pump, or various types of compressors);
  • A metering device to introduce the raw material at the source into the pneumatic system (rotary valve, screw feeder, or venturi);
  • Equipment to separate the pneumatic conveying air flow from the raw material at the destination point (bag filter cycle, cyclones, silos with bin vents, or other);

Practical Applications

Understand the differences between pressure-based pneumatic conveying types

Positive Pressure

Occurs through blowers as the air generation source, carrying the particulate material. It is metered in an airtight manner directly into the piping, where it is conveyed to the receiver.

Negative Pressure

Also known as a suction conveying system, the raw material is metered in at atmospheric pressure and then drawn in by a vacuum-generating device.

Dense Phase

In dense phase pneumatic conveying systems, pressure vessels are used, where conveying capacity is determined by the vessel's volume and the number of cycles (feeding, pressurizing, and emptying the vessel) performed per hour.
